Today we visited Kyoto and have started with the the Ryoanji which is a temple at the center of a zen garden, which visit was quite nice though the weather was a little cold which would stay like this until the end of the morning, but some part of the temple where not visible as it is currently restored, and as in many of the visit of today we had to take off our shoes before entering the place. We then continued to the Kinkakuji temple and it’s famous golden pagoda, which is under golden leaf for the most part and have seen the garden and many little temples surrounding it. To end the morning visits we went to the Nijo-jo castle, where once again we had to remove our shoes before entering the place, which we were not allowed to photograph. We then went back to the center of Kyoto for lunch where we had tempura (grilled meal), that is when we could see some celebration for the creation of a new “shop”. During the afternnon we concluded with the Kinkakuji temple in which we were once again bare footed, and not allowed to take pictures, where there are many budha statues (more than 1000). And we finally went to Kiomizu-dera a final temple which access is bordered by many shops, it is also being restaured but the visit was nice and gaved us a nice view of Kyoto and its surroundings. After that we went back to the hotel and said goodbye to our guide before meeting the next one on Wednesday as tomorrow will be the freeday in Kyoto.

http://picasaweb.google.fr/avandoorine/JapanDay6

New day in Japan which is the last one with our current guide as she left us tonight, because the group will split in three on Wednesday depending on the end of trip each person have choosen, and that the main part of the trip will now be done by train.
