Unfortunately there was just too much wait for us about 60 minutes just to get the tickets, and it would not fit with the schedule. So we just went a little for the shopping street, and then as there is a long distance from Tokyo Station, we went back to the main station for lunch.

There we found what is called the Ramen Street, a long hall in the basement of Tokyo Station where you can find a lot of Ramen establishment. We selected one, and then on the vending machine got our lunch choices done and payed, before waiting a little for two seats to get free. And then had some nice ramen, as you’ll see in the pictures. We then went on over the ground to waitand take our first shikansen ride to Odawara.

At this point we changed for a very different railway that is operated in the mountain, the Hakone Tozan Railway, which is a nice experience, with a pretty high gradient and three places where the driver will change of side to continue the trips, these switchback and station are also the only places where train going both side would cross each other, as otherwise it is a single track all the way. So we got from about 12m above sea to more than 500m above. And a little but tiring walk later (the climb was steep), we got to our Ryokan. And got for a very nice experience.

After beingintroduce to the team there, and leaving our shoes at the entrance, we were then taken to our room, where we would be served dinner and breakfast, but also sleep, our bed would be made after dinner, but also our room included our own private outside bath just for us to relax in this hot water, and also where we would take our shower. Obivously hidden from the outside. What a treat after a nice dinner composed of many different small portion of meals, to go outside in the dark get our shower and then just relax in the hot water watching the starry sky. Something you can’t see on pictures but have to live.

After a nice night on our “beds” on the ground and another very nice set of meals for the morning, we would just make a little tour of the ryokan, before getting back to odwara where we would have meal and then catch a shinkansen that got us to Kyoto we’re will be staying for the next 5 nights.

Finally here are the pictures : https://plus.google.com/photos/114773392268686655181/albums/6018766505153280849

As planned yesterday no wifi network was available so here comes the update for the last two days.
