There I met with her mother too, and we had lunch.

We went bicycling in the neighborhood, where we visited a temple of which we went completely around and got in the heights that have given some nice views of Yokohama and the sea not so far away. We then simply continued to the sea front where there were a lot of people getting crams, and also just being there for the beach. And right next to it is a set of attractions, with some tower that let you free-fall, and some various attractions, like water boat, and dolphin shows and the things like that.

Then we went back and got to a nearby shopping mall for lunch, with sushi being put on rolling thing that turns around the restaurant and that you can just pick all you want with the plates being representative of the price by there colors or symbols. And that’s it for this small day.

The next day was the planned visit to the Ghibli Museum, which took a bit less than two hours to make the train trip to Mikata. The museum is in the center of a big park, and really a place with a lot of room for imagination, of course there were the Ghibli movies, but also much more, there were some explanations on how everything is made and how it is working in a movie theater, as well as a lot of books that have served as raw materials for their creations, and many many amazing color or hand-drawn sketches that really gave and idea of the work done. The museum also features a catbus area for children, a nice very crowded shop as well as some real size robot and cube from Castle in the Sky (Tenku no Shiro no Laputa).

Following this small trip, the day after we went to too important areas of Yokohama that are Chinatown, which is a real kind of city in the city, where suddenly it’s not Japan anymore but China, with a lot of shops, a nice temple, and many many restaurants as well as a very important number of people that were in the main street. We then continue down to the Yokohama Bay and the Minato Mirai 21, a nice place near the ocean, with some nice views on Yokohama and the sea beyond.

For the final day it was more relaxed, as after all I had moved quite a lot and we had seen a lot of things so we went for a simple movie, and had a nice resting day.

View the pictures / Voir les photos

Lire en français As planned I joined my friend today, so we went from Tokyo to Yokohama by train, and then to her house which took us a around an hour.
