But nevertheless after a little walk I still have found a little park on this side, and well even without the park once again there are trees and nature a little everywhere, so that it still not so gray everywhere. Then I went to the eastern side, and found myself eating in a small Izakaya of Shinjuku which was quite nice and hopefully had English menu, and even pictures of the plates so I could chose very easily. I then continue my walk toward the east and got to my destination which is the Shinjuku Gyoen National Park, which is a little like in Ueno but much bigger. This park took me about one hour or more I would say to go around it, and even has a french garden. It was really nice and lot of people where here to relax and also a lot of scholars who seemed to had a drawing to do, which I must say were really well made, much better than what I’ve ever been able to do. Japanese are much more into the Art than me I guess.

<p align=justify">After this long walk I then got a little to the south to find another big area which is Shibuya, a place that is much more attractive to the young, with the 109 being there fashion place. But first I chose to go through the Hachiko exit. Hachiko is the statue of a dog named Hachi, the ko being an affective particle and was raised after this nice story, which is that the dog was coming to the station everyday with it’s master in the morning, and was coming back to get him at the end of the day, but one day the teacher did not came home, and had died at his workplace, still day after day the dog continued to come at the station, until someday he eventually himself died. That’s in memory of this story of fidelity that the statue was raised, though the original one was melted during the war for metal, it was after that recreated and is a famous meeting point in Shibuya.

<p align=justify">So there I went and saw a lot of buildings with less trees though, and also a lot of shops and very small streets with many many kind of places, from the very small shop to the big department store that use many floors. But the most important was that I came here to join my friend who had managed to got us tickets so I could attend Kokia’s concert. And that was a really nice concert that she performed, and with a much better group of musician than during her European tours, as added to the usual Guitar and Piano players that come with her every year, there were a set of string with the Cello, a Violin and a String Bass, as well as a percussionist. A great concert, after which we came to eat in a Chinese restaurant which changed me a little, and I was relieved not having to find something by myself. After that and the time to get back to Shinagawa it was already time to part for today.

View the pictures / Voir les photos

Lire en français Shinjuku is really quite a different kind of area that you can almost split in two, I came first by the west exit, and there it was probably much more like USA with many many sky crappers, that have popped up about everywhere, that is really crowded and one of the biggest […]

[6
